Lung diseases kill 4 million people every year.
We’re working to fix that!
We study how the immune system identifies and responds to viruses, like the flu, and thereby determines susceptibility to bacterial infections, like pneumonia.
Our research underpins the rational design of vaccines, immunotherapies for influenza and strategies to combat ‘superbug’ infections.
We’re supported by the NIH, the Francis Family Foundation and Montana State University.
I hope you enjoy learning more about our research, meeting our team, reading our blog and exploring opportunities to get involved!
Thanks for visiting,
Agnieszka Apple, Ph.D.
We have a range of active projects in two key areas: the role of viruses in bacterial superinfections; and, vaccine development.
Our growing team is led by Agnieszka Apple. It includes Postdoctoral Researcher Kelly Shepardson, Lab Manager Kyle Larson and a number of graduate and undergraduate students.
